Forest honey does not come from one flower. Wild bees feed on whatever is blooming in the jungle that season, so this honey is darker than the honey you get in supermarkets and the taste is stronger, a little woody and sometimes slightly bitter at the end.
After collection it is strained through cloth to take out bits of wax and comb, and then bottled. We do not heat it or filter it under pressure, so it stays raw.
Because the flowers change, one batch will not look or taste exactly like the next. Some are almost amber, some close to dark brown. We see that as part of what you are buying.
How to use it
- A spoon in warm (not boiling) water with lemon first thing in the morning, which is how a lot of people take it.
- With ginger juice and tulsi when the season changes.
- On toast, on oats, or with a few soaked almonds for the kids.
Good to know
- Raw honey often crystallises and turns thick or grainy, especially in winter. Keep the jar in a bowl of warm water for a while and it will loosen again. Do not microwave it.
- Store at room temperature with the lid closed. It does not need the fridge.
- Honey should not be given to babies under one year old.
Stir it into warm (not boiling) water, drizzle it over curd or oats, or use it in dressings. Honey is not suitable for babies under one year old.
Store at room temperature with the lid closed. Raw honey can crystallise in the cold. To make it runny again, stand the closed jar in warm water for a while.
Jars are sealed and packed with cushioning. If a jar arrives broken or leaking, take a photo and contact us with your order number.

Questions about this product
Why has my honey gone thick or grainy?
Crystallisation is natural for raw honey, especially in winter. Warm the closed jar in a bowl of warm water to soften it.
Does honey need the fridge?
No. The fridge makes it crystallise faster. Keep it in a cupboard with the lid closed.
Can children have honey?
Honey should not be given to babies under 12 months old.
Why does the colour vary?
Colour and taste depend on the flowers the bees visited, so they can change from one harvest to the next.
Can I return it?
Opened food products cannot be returned. If your jar arrives damaged or not as described, contact us with a photo and your order number.
